Overview

Weatherly owns five Copper Mines as well as a number of development projects in Namibia and elsewhere in Africa. All its operating mines were closed at the end of 2008 following the dramatic collapse in Copper prices.

In Namibia, the Company’s future strategy is to re-establish a copper mining business capable of sustaining approximately 20,000tpa of copper at average industry cost of production for the next ten years.

We are:

  • focussed on bringing back into production the best of the underground mines at Otjihase and Matchless (Central operations).
  • completing a detailed feasibility study for the development of a new open pit mine at Tschudi.
  • increasing our efforts as subcontractors to Wadi to secure the Tambao manganese project in Burkina Faso.
  • seeking a JV partner to complete a feasibility study and fund the development of Berg Aukas.
  • Where we have no immediate plans to develop a mine we will divest the asset for value as we have with Kombat.
  • We also own a concentrator at Tsumeb and associated tailings project at Tsumeb.
